The Vla-cosmos Survey. Ii. Source Catalog of the Large Project
نویسندگان
چکیده
The VLA-COSMOS Large Project is described and its scientific objective is discussed. We present a catalog of 3600 radio sources found in the 2 deg COSMOS field at 1.4 GHz. The observations in the VLA A and C configuration resulted in a resolution of 1:500 ; 1:400 and a mean rms noise of 10.5 (15) Jy beam 1 in the central 1 (2) deg. Eighty radio sources are clearly extended consisting of multiple components, and most of them appear to be double-lobed radio galaxies. The astrometry of the catalog has been thoroughly tested, and the uncertainty in the relative and absolute astrometry are 130 and <55 mas, respectively. Subject headings: cosmology: observations — radio continuum: galaxies — surveys Online material: color figure, machine-readable tables

The VLA-COSMOS large project is described and its scientific objective is discussed. We present a catalog of ∼ 3, 600 radio sources found in the 2 deg 2 COSMOS field at 1.4 GHz. The observations in the VLA A and C configuration resulted in a resolution of 1.5 ′′ ×1.4 ′′ and a mean rms noise of ∼ 10.5(15) µJy/beam in the central 1(2) deg 2. 80 radio sources are clearly extended consisting of mul...
متن کاملThe VLA-COSMOS Survey: III. Further Catalog Analysis and the Radio Source Counts
The VLA-COSMOS Large Project has imaged the 2 deg COSMOS field with a resolution of 1.5 arcsec and a sensitivity of about 11 μJy (1σ) yielding to a catalog of ∼ 3600 radio sources. In this paper we present a further analysis of the VLA-COSMOS Large Project catalog of radio sources aimed to: 1) quantify and correct for the effect of bandwidth smearing in the catalog, 2) determine the incompleten...
متن کاملThe VLA-COSMOS Survey: I. Radio Identifications from the Pilot Project
We present a catalog of 246 radio sources found in the central 1 degree of the COSMOS field at 1.4GHz. The VLA pilot project data have a resolution of 1.9×1.6 and an rms noise limit of ∼ 25-100μJy/beam covering 0.837 deg. About 20 radio sources are clearly extended and most of them appear to be double-lobed radio galaxies. We find evidence for a cluster of 7 radio sources with an extent of ∼10 ...
متن کاملThe VLA Low-frequency Sky Survey
The Very Large Array (VLA) Low-frequency Sky Survey (VLSS) has imaged 95% of the 3π sr of sky north of δ = −30◦ at a frequency of 74 MHz (4 meter wavelength). The resolution is 80 (FWHM) throughout, and the typical RMS noise level is 〈σ〉 ≈ 0.1 Jy/beam. The typical point-source detection limit is 0.7 Jy/beam and so far nearly 70,000 sources have been catalogued. This survey used the 74 MHz syste...
متن کاملPulsars identified from the NRAO VLA Sky Survey
Abstract. We identified 97 strong pulsars from the NRAO VLA Sky Survey (NVSS) at 1.4 GHz north of Dec(J2000) > −40◦. The total flux density, linear polarization intensity and polarization angle (PA) of all pulsars are extracted from the NVSS catalog. The well-calibrated PA measurement of 5 pulsars can be used for absolute PA calibrations in other observations. Comparing the source positions wit...
